How does Mobile Data Now work?

The Mobile Data Now application is installed on a server/computer with a permanent connection to the internet. When an end user sends a query (via email,  instant messaging or SMS text messaging) to Mobile Data Now the requested information is sent back to the user.

There are two types of users:

1. Named Users have their query authenticated against the their credentials, then against the their permissions. If these are met, the query is run and Mobile Data Now sends the relevant information back to the users mobile phone.

2. Public Messaging users can be anyone who sends a query.

A good analogy to how Mobile Data Now works is like two people sending messages to each other. One person asks the question (the user with the mobile phone) and the other person (Mobile Data Now) responds with the answer.

Another Analogy is that it is like Google SMS, where the end user requests information via SMS and Google sends it back via SMS, but in this case Mobile Data Now sends back your relevant business information.
